Finally, Windows Vista SP1 is out. I will download and test it out.

Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) is an update to Windows Vista that addresses feedback from our customers. In addition to previously released updates, SP1 will contain changes focused on addressing specific reliability, performance, and compatibility issues; supporting new types of hardware; and adding support for several emerging standards. SP1 also will continue to make it easier for IT administrators to deploy and manage Windows Vista.

How to enable the built-in Administrator account:

  1. Click on Start.
  2. Type cmd in Start Search box.
  3. Right click on cmd and click on Run as administrator.
  4. Type net user administrator /active:yes and press Enter.

How to disable the built-in Administrator account:

  1. Click on Start.
  2. Type cmd in Start Search box.
  3. Right click on cmd and click on Run as administrator.
  4. Type net user administrator /active:no and press Enter.

Today we are excited to announce that we have released Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista to manufacturing (RTM) for our first set of languages (English, French, Spanish, German and Japanese).

End users won’t be able to download the SP1 yet. Estimated that SP1 will be only available for end users to download somewhere in mid-March.

Everyone is so excited that Microsoft finally released SP1 for Windows Vista. I really hope the SP1 could really make Windows Vista becoming more stable and reliable.

Just about few minutes ago, my friend call me and asking for help. His laptop getting this BSOD error message UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME.

I think it would be best that I can share this to everyone. Here are the steps you can fix this BSOD error.

  1. Restart your computer and press on F12 when are saw the BIOS screen.
  2. Select on CD-ROM or DVD drive option and press Enter.
  3. When you saw the message Press any key to boot…, just hit on Enter again.
  4. When you get into the Windows setup main screen, press on R to enter into the Recovery Console.
  5. If required for Administrator password, please enter your Administrator password and press Enter.
  6. In the command prompt, type chkdsk /p and press Enter.
  7. When complete, type fixboot and press Enter.
  8. Press Y and press Enter at the prompt.
  9. Type exit and press Enter. System will reboot now.
  10. If fail to load into Windows again, please redo the step 1 to step 5.
  11. Now, type chkdsk /r and press Enter.
  12. Type exit and press Enter. System will reboot now.

The steps shown above should fix the problem.

I personally understand that some people would love to have this feature enable, it is known as Window Previews or also known to most people as thumbnail. In Windows Vista, we have this feature.
