Mat Rempit! Many non-Malaysian will ask what is that mean. Mat Rempit is a Malaysian term for an individual who participates in illegal street racing, usually involving underbone motorcycles. Some of them was performing dangerous stunt act such as riding motorbike in Superman flying style.
Recently there are so many criminal cases involving Mat Rempits. You can always read on newspaper that Mat Rempits assault and robbing some road users. I was so mad and sad as this Mat Rempits culture causing bad image of our country in the eyes of the whole world.
Mat Rempits usually travel in groups and race in bustling city centres on weekend nights. In recent times, Mat Rempits have been linked to gangsterism, gang robbery, street fighting, assault, vandalism, theft, bullying and rape.
Some Mat Rempits do not have valid motorcycle licenses, do not pay road taxes, and ride stolen motorcycles.
How could we stop those Mat Rempit from illegal street racing and also stopping them from endangering other road users. Personally, I strongly recommend our Malaysian laws to enforce certain act or law on those Mat Rempits. This issue has causing criminal activities blooming in recent years.
No matter how many road block setup by the police or JPJ but still we have so many Mat Rempits around. Why? This is because our current law/act was not strict enough.
I strongly suggest that government would do something about this. Not only government but also parents of those Mat Rempits. If Mat Rempits causing all kind of problem, once get caught, their parents should be also punished. Fine them with higher amount, at least 4 digits number.
Yeah, how about on method to punish those Mat Rempits? I suggest that put the GPS system locked on their legs and limit them on how far they can travel from their home. If the travel over the limit and it will immediately trigger the warning sound. Within certain time if they fail to get back into the safe range, it will then trigger the alarm for the police to track him down. This is a better method then just fines them or jails them. To jail Mat Rempits, I believe our government needs to build more jail all over the country, especially in the major cities.
Some may disagree that this is against human rights but tell me if they endanger other road users, they are also violate other people’s human rights.
Everyone must play in a role to stop this bad ‘culture’. Say NO to Mat Rempits.

Personally, I think its begin from home. The parents must have the awareness what is their sons\daughters is doing. The parents needs to guide their children’s base on their religion teaching, which is right and wrong, respect and all those good stuff….. Family is the first institution of developing the children’s. If this institution break…..there you have it…Mat\Minah Rempit, crime, corruptions and all those bad stuff. It does not matter if the government put a GPS, shoot them on the spot, tougher laws, road blocks….It may reduce a little but this little percentage will be replace by the next generation. The reason is the Family Institution breaks. The government should first educate the parents the importance of Family Institution then only follow by tougher laws, road blocks and etc…………Just my dua sen pendapat.

Nowadays the parents need to work, where got time to go educate their childs?
Shoot them? That is out of choice.
Road block will not stop mat rempits or reduce them. We need to enforce some law against them.
