Red Cliff 《赤壁》 is one of the two-episode Chinese epic film based on the Battle of Red Cliffs and events during the Three Kingdoms period in Ancient China. I have been waiting this movie for a very long time, lost track on how many months I’m be waiting for it.

The film is directed by John Woo and stars Tony Leung Chiu Wai (梁朝偉), Takeshi Kaneshiro(金城武), Lin Chi-ling(林志玲) and Zhao Wei(赵薇). With an estimated budget of US$80 million, The Battle of Red Cliff is the most expensive Asian-financed film to date.

Red Cliff will be on our big screen on 17th July. Malaysia’s GSC confirmed that John Woo will be here promoting the film along together with Lin Chi-ling and other actors. Tony Leung and Takeshi Kaneshiro would not be able to come to Malaysia to promote the film.
