Germany progressed to the semi-finals for the first time since 1996 as goals from Bastian Schweinsteiger, Miroslav Klose and Michael Ballack secured a 3-2 victory over Portugal.

First half, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Miroslav Klose scored each in 22nd minutes and 26th minutes to give Germany the lead. Nuno Gomes scored for Portugal in the 40th minutes to close up the gap.

Second half, Michael Ballack scored n the 61st minutes and Portugal is pretty much in pressure. Portugal’s Helder Postiga scored in 87th minutes to close the gap again but it was too late for Portugal to score any equaliser.
