This afternoon, Lewis Hamilton’s win for McLaren at the Australian Grand Prix. He was doing very well last year and this year he kicks off with a flying start. He is the star of tomorrow. Many have seeing him as the future Michael Schumacher.

Police have dispersed the crowd which held a short street protest near the Komtar building today. Banners and posters were seized but no one was arrested.

The protestors began gathering in the area after Friday prayers to demonstrate against the DAP-led state government.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan had warned the public not to assemble illegally at the location. He said those who defied the order would be arrested for illegal assembly.

It was a smooth transition of government in Penang when DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng sworn in as Chief Minister early this morning.

The swearing-in-ceremony was held before Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas at his official residence Seri Mutiara here at 10.08am today, witnessed by Guan Eng’s predecessor Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon.

None of the 11 assemblymen from Umno, who now form the state’s opposition, were present during the swearing-in-ceremony.

Later at a press conference, he announced a bonus for Penangites, all summonses involving hawker licences and parking fees issued by the Penang and Seberang Prai municipal councils before Tuesday would be waived.

BN will form the next government as it has won more than half the parliamentary seats.

I was so surprise when I heard the news that DAP will form the state government in Penang. Not only Penang, BN also lost Kedah, Perak and Selangor. PAS still strengthened grip on Kelantan.

Gerakan acting president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon lost to Dr P. Ramasamy in the Batu Kawan parliamentary seat.

However, the coalition suffered some of the greatest defeats in its history. BN chairman Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, in accepting the results, said this was clear proof of democracy at work in the country.

Microsoft unveiled the first beta version of Internet Explorer 8 on Thursday. It is now available for public to download.

It look similar to current IE 7 but with some enhancement.
