Lydia Sum, one of Hong Kong showbiz’s most colorful and popular personalities, died today at age 61. She passed away in Queen Mary Hospital at 8.38 AM.

Shanghai-born Lydia took up acting as a child in the early 60s, and her bubbly sense of humour quickly made her popular. She hosted numerous TVB variety shows, most notably Enjoy Yourself Tonight, which made her a household name.

She was once married to Adam Cheng but they later divorced. She left alone her beloved daughter Joyce Cheng. They both was very close to each other.

Let’s pay a tribute to Lydia Sum, the “happy fruit” of Hong Kong. She was also known as “Fei Fei” for her plump physique.
